Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Looniee. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Looniee.

The service

Looniee is a personal portfolio tracker and Canadian registered-account planning tool. It is provided for informational purposes only and is not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. See our Disclaimer for details.

Your responsibilities

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the data you enter and for any decisions you make.
• You must verify official contribution room with the CRA before contributing.
• You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, copy, frame, or download the service or its data, except as a normal user via the supported interface;
• access the service by automated means (bots, scripts, headless browsers) without our prior written consent;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any non-public component;
• reproduce, mirror, or build a substantially similar product, interface, or feature set based on Looniee;
• use the service or any data obtained from it to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any machine-learning or AI model, except for your own personal use within Looniee;
• circumvent, probe, or test the security of the service, or attempt unauthorized access to any account, data, or system;
• resell or commercially redistribute access to, or data from, the service;
• overload, disrupt, or attempt to degrade the service for other users.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and may pursue legal remedies for harm caused.

Looniee Plus — subscriptions, trials & renewals

Looniee’s core features are free. Looniee Plus is an optional paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive your full card number.

• Price. CA$9 per month, or CA$72 per year, in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes are added at checkout. Prices may change, but never for an existing subscriber mid-term — we will email you at least 30 days before a price change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does.
• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or yearly, matching the plan you chose — and your card is charged the then-current price until you cancel. There is no separate renewal confirmation step.
• Free trial. New subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the trial converts into a paid subscription automatically and your first charge is taken that day. We will email you a reminder stating the exact date of that first charge; because the trial is three days long, that reminder arrives when the trial starts. One trial per person — we use your email and card fingerprint to enforce this.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time, in one step, from Settings → Plan → Manage subscription. Cancelling is never harder than subscribing and never requires contacting us. Your Plus features remain active through the end of the period you already paid for, then your account reverts to the free plan.
• Refunds. Cancellation stops future charges; we do not automatically refund the unused remainder of a period. If you were charged in error, charged after cancelling, or never used the period in question, email [email protected] within 30 days and we will refund it. This does not limit any non-waivable refund right you have under the consumer protection law of your province.
• AI Boost. AI usage credit packs are a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Credit is consumed by use, does not expire monthly, and is non-refundable once consumed. Any unused balance is destroyed if you delete your account.
• Downgrading. Losing Plus never deletes your data. Plus-only views become unavailable and multi-person households collapse to a single person for display, but every account, holding, and record stays intact and returns if you resubscribe.

AI features

Ask Looniee and AI document import are optional and generate responses using third-party AI models. AI output can be incomplete, outdated, or simply wrong, and must not be relied on as financial, tax, legal, or investment advice. Always verify figures against your own records and official CRA sources before acting. What is sent to our AI provider is described in our Privacy Policy. AI usage is subject to fair-use and monthly cost limits which we may adjust.

Intellectual property

Looniee, the Looniee name and logo, the user interface, source code, calculation engines, and all related materials are the property of Looniee and its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the service for personal, non-commercial use only. No other rights are granted, expressly or by implication. Your own portfolio data remains yours; you can export or delete it at any time.

No warranty

Looniee is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Market data may be delayed or inaccurate.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Looniee and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any financial losses, tax penalties, or missed opportunities arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless mandatory consumer-protection law in your province of residence provides otherwise.

Changes & termination

We may modify or discontinue the service, or update these terms, at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
