Blossom details checked October 1, 2026. Looniee is not affiliated with Blossom. If Blossom adds an export, this page will say so.
Which way should you use?
| Way in | Best when | What comes over | Uses AI? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your brokerage's file | Your Blossom portfolio is linked to a brokerage that offers a CSV, such as Wealthsimple or Questrade | Exact share counts, and with an activity file, your trade history and cost | No |
| Screenshots | You want to be done in two minutes, or your holdings were entered by hand in Blossom | Tickers and share counts as of today, plus average cost if the screen shows it | Yes, to read the image |
| A typed list | You hold a few positions and know the numbers | Whatever you type: ticker, shares, optional average cost and currency | No |
Blossom gets its numbers from the brokerage you linked, so that brokerage's own file is the most accurate source and the only one that carries history. Screenshots and typed lists bring over what you hold today.
Way 1: the file from your brokerage
Download a holdings or activity CSV from the brokerage itself, then import it in Looniee under Import → From Blossom → A file from the brokerage Blossom syncs. Step-by-step export guides: Wealthsimple and Questrade. Files from TD, RBC and CIBC are recognised automatically too, and any other broker's CSV or Excel file is matched column by column, once.
Way 2: screenshots of your Blossom holdings
- In Blossom, open your portfolio's holdings list and take a screenshot. Scroll and take more if the list is long.
- In Looniee, choose Import → From Blossom → Screenshots of your Blossom holdings and add up to four PNG, JPEG or WebP images at a time.
- Looniee reads them in one pass and shows every row it found, grouped by account. A row without a share count is marked Needs shares and can't be saved until you type one. Looniee never guesses a quantity from a percentage weight.
- Correct anything that's off, pick the account each holding belongs to, and save.
What is sent to the AI: only the screenshots you chose. Nothing else from your Looniee portfolio goes with them, and the images aren't used to train any model. The reading is done by Google's Gemini through the Vercel AI Gateway.
What it costs: nothing. Screenshot reading is free on every plan, with a lifetime allowance per person that covers several reads. If you use it up, typing the list or importing a broker file still works.
Way 3: type the list
One holding per line: the ticker, then the number of shares. Add an average cost after it if you know it, and USD for a US listing. A line like TFSA: sets the account for the lines under it, and a cash line records a cash balance.
TFSA: XEQT.TO 120 VFV.TO 42.5 82.10 RRSP: AAPL 15 168.20 USD cash 1500 CAD
No AI is involved, and nothing is saved until you confirm the rows on the review screen.
What doesn't come over
- History, from a screenshot or a list. These carry what you hold, not when you bought it, so the performance chart starts on the import date. A brokerage activity file fixes that.
- Cost, when the screen doesn't show it. A holding read without an average cost is added at today's value, so its gain starts from zero. The review screen flags these rows, and you can type the real cost there or later.
- Blossom's social side. Followers, posts and other people's portfolios stay in Blossom. Looniee is a private tracker with no public profile.
- Contribution room, from a screenshot or a list. These carry holdings, not deposits, so they don't change your TFSA, RRSP or FHSA room. A brokerage activity file does: its last import screen offers to add the file's TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP deposits to the Planner, where room is worked out. See the TFSA tracker for how that works.
If an import looks wrong after saving, Settings → Import history → Undo import removes that batch and nothing else.
Free plan limits
The free plan covers 3 accounts, 10 holdings and 500 transactions for one person, with every tracking feature working. If an import goes over a cap, Looniee saves what fits and tells you what was left out. Looniee Plus removes the caps; see pricing.
Why move at all?
Blossom is built around sharing and following other investors. Looniee is built around the Canadian accounts themselves: your TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP contribution room, dividends after foreign withholding tax, cash in each currency, and the whole household's net worth on Plus. If the social feed is what you use Blossom for, keep it. If you want the numbers, open the live demo first and decide.
