The 6 best Wealthica alternatives for Canadian investors (2026)

People leave Wealthica for three different reasons: the price (it no longer lists a free plan), connections that break, or not wanting any service to hold a link to their accounts. Which alternative fits depends on which of those is yours.

Wealthica is a good product, and it's worth saying what you'd give up. It syncs more than 200 core Canadian institutions, bank accounts and crypto included, has iOS and Android apps in English and French, and puts a capital gains report on every plan. If that's what you use it for and the price is fine, none of these is a clear upgrade.

We make Looniee, one of the products below. We've ranked it where we think it fits the typical Wealthica leaver, which is third, and each entry says what it does better than us. Greenline, a newer tracker built on the same no-login idea, beats us on several points and we say which.

Ranked for a Canadian investor leaving Wealthica who still wants most of what it does

01Sharesight

Best for keeping automatic updates, with stronger tax reports

Price
Free (1 portfolio, 10 holdings, sold ones included). Starter CA$12/mo or CA$9/mo billed yearly (1 portfolio, 30 holdings); Standard CA$31/mo or CA$23.25/mo yearly (4 portfolios); Premium CA$39/mo or CA$29.25/mo yearly (10 portfolios). “Prices in CAD.”
How data gets in
Broker connection, trade-confirmation email forwarding or file upload, depending on the broker (14 Canadian brokers listed)
TFSA and RRSP
Not documented. Each portfolio has a tax setting (non-registered, RRSP, RRIF or TFSA)

The closest like-for-like move if sync is what you value. Sharesight lists 14 Canadian brokers (Questrade, Wealthsimple, TD, RBC, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank, National Bank and others), each through a direct connection, forwarded trade-confirmation emails or a file upload. Dividends, DRIPs and splits come in automatically.

Its Canadian capital gains report uses the ACB method under CRA rules and handles splits, return of capital and currency conversion. That report starts on the paid plans. The free plan is small: 10 holdings, and sold positions count toward them.

Good

  • Broker connections or email forwarding for 14 Canadian brokers
  • A mature ACB capital gains report
  • Prices stated in CAD; a free plan to start

Not so good

  • Room tracking isn't documented; TFSA and RRSP are tax settings on a portfolio
  • A household with several registered accounts needs Standard (4 portfolios) at CA$23.25/mo billed yearly
  • No bank accounts; it's an investment tracker

02WealthWise

Best for a Canadian, bilingual tracker with optional sync

Price
Free (1 portfolio; “account limit applies” to assets). Essential CA$4.99/mo or CA$49/yr (3 portfolios, 50 assets each); Premium CA$9.99/mo or CA$99/yr (unlimited, FIRE projections, AI analysis). “Beta prices in Canadian dollars, subject to offer availability.” Eligible accounts can activate 14 days of Premium after confirming their email, no card.
How data gets in
CSV/Excel import or manual entry; an optional read-only broker connection through SnapTrade (“connections depend on the institutions available”)
TFSA and RRSP
Not documented. RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, RRIF and RESP are tracked as separate accounts

WealthWise is newer (it's labelled beta) and built for Canadian DIY investors. It's in English and French, hosts its data in Canada, and tracks RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, RRIF and RESP accounts separately. Most people start with CSV or Excel import; an optional read-only broker connection goes through SnapTrade.

Premium adds FIRE projections with Monte Carlo scenarios. Prices are labelled beta prices in Canadian dollars, subject to offer availability.

Good

  • English and French, with data hosted in Canada
  • Optional read-only broker connection
  • A free plan (1 portfolio)

Not so good

  • Labelled beta; prices are beta prices, subject to offer availability
  • Which plans include the broker connection isn't stated
  • Room tracking isn't documented on its pages

03LoonieeOurs

Best for leaving because of the connections, and tracking room

Price
Free for 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions, no card. Plus is CA$9/mo, or CA$72/yr (CA$6/mo), with a 3-day Plus trial, card required.
How data gets in
Broker CSV/Excel import, AI screenshot import, or typing. Never a bank login
TFSA and RRSP
Room engines for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP, per person

This is ours. It's the opposite design to Wealthica: nothing connects. You import the CSV or Excel file your broker lets you download (Questrade, Wealthsimple, TD, RBC and CIBC are recognised automatically; any other broker's file is matched column by column), upload a screenshot, or type your holdings. Prices update on their own; your trades don't.

What you get for doing that import is room. Looniee works out TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP room from CRA rules for each person in the household, separately. It's free for 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions, and Plus adds households, the capital gains tools and analytics.

Good

  • No bank or broker login, ever, and so nothing to break
  • Per-person room engines for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP
  • A free plan with no card

Not so good

  • Nothing updates automatically; you import or type new trades
  • Web only and English only
  • No bank accounts or crypto sync; capital gains tools are Plus only

04Greenline

Best for a free no-login tracker with an iPhone app

Price
“$0 during Beta”, no card, unlimited holdings. Paid plans will come “at launch, with monthly and annual options”, and early members are promised better rates.
How data gets in
PDF, spreadsheet or screenshot upload (verified parsers for named brokers, an AI parser for the rest), or typing. No bank connection
TFSA and RRSP
Tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting room you confirm, then your contributions

Greenline is the closest product to Looniee on this list: Canadian, no bank connection, and room tracking for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP. You confirm your starting room and it tracks contributions from there. It reads PDF statements and screenshots as well as spreadsheets, and it has an iOS app. It's free while in beta.

It ranks below Looniee here for one reason that matters to a Wealthica leaver: Wealthica has family groups, and Greenline's FAQ says sharing with a partner isn't available yet and full CSV export is “on the way”. If it's just you, Greenline may suit you better than we do.

Good

  • Free during the beta, unlimited holdings
  • Reads PDF statements and screenshots, not just spreadsheets
  • An iOS app; RDSP room as well as TFSA, RRSP and FHSA

Not so good

  • Paid pricing not announced yet
  • No partner sharing yet; full data export is “on the way”
  • Room starts from a figure you confirm rather than being worked out from your history

05Snowball Analytics

Best for dividend investors who want sync

Price
Free (1 portfolio, 10 holdings, no broker linking). Starter US$7.99/mo or US$79.99/yr; Investor US$14.99/mo or US$149.99/yr; Expert US$24.99/mo or US$249.99/yr. “All prices are in USD.” 14-day trial, no card.
How data gets in
Broker linking on paid plans (its pages name Yodlee and SnapTrade), broker-report and CSV import
TFSA and RRSP
Not documented. Its Canada page covers TSX holdings, RRSPs and TFSAs in CAD

If dividends are the reason you open a tracker, Snowball is built around them: a dividend calendar, yield on cost, a dividend rating and custom withholding tax. It has a Canada page covering TSX holdings, RRSPs and TFSAs in Canadian dollars, and help articles for importing from Wealthsimple and Questrade.

It's a French company and prices are in US dollars. Broker linking starts on the paid Starter plan.

Good

  • Dividend calendar, yield on cost and a dividend rating
  • Broker linking on paid plans
  • Free plan and a 14-day trial with no card

Not so good

  • Priced in USD
  • Room tracking and Canadian capital gains aren't documented
  • Free plan has no broker linking

06Kubera

Best for complex, high-net-worth or cross-border households

Price
Essentials US$250/yr; Black US$2,500/yr (USD per the homepage's structured data; no monthly price shown); Gold, “Black, plus a person”, $10,000/yr. 14-day trial, with any fee shown at sign-up; the plan doesn't start automatically afterwards. No free plan.
How data gets in
Many aggregators (Plaid, Yodlee, MX, SnapTrade and others), Web Sync, and manual entry
TFSA and RRSP
Not documented

Kubera is for the household whose balance sheet has outgrown a portfolio tracker: several currencies, private investments, property, crypto, entities. It runs several aggregators at once, falls back to a "Web Sync" for institutions that won't connect, and has granular sharing with family and advisors.

It's the most expensive option here and has no free plan. Its pages don't mention TFSAs or RRSPs, and there's no Canada-specific page.

Good

  • Many aggregators plus Web Sync and manual assets
  • Multi-currency throughout
  • Sharing with family, assistants and advisors

Not so good

  • From US$250 a year, no free plan
  • No documented Canadian registered-account features
  • More than most single-portfolio investors need

Why people look for an alternative

From Wealthica's own pricing history and public reviews, three themes come up. These are small samples, not a survey.

  • Price. Wealthica moved from a free model to paid plans; its November 2023 blog post explains why. Its pricing page now lists four paid plans, from $6.25 a month or $50 a year (currency not stated) for three core Canadian connections.
  • Connections that break. Four of the six one-star Trustpilot reviews we read on October 1, 2026 described sync or connection failures. That comes with aggregation generally: Kubera's help centre says "100% connectivity is impossible."
  • Not wanting a standing connection. Some investors would rather no third party held ongoing access to their accounts at all.

Moving your history over

Your broker, not Wealthica, is the source of your history. Export transactions from each broker and import them into whichever tracker you choose. For Looniee: how to export from Wealthsimple and how to export from Questrade.

Questions

What is the best free alternative to Wealthica?
It depends on how much you hold. Sharesight's free plan covers 1 portfolio and 10 holdings (sold ones count), Snowball's covers 1 portfolio and 10 holdings, WealthWise's 1 portfolio (asset limit not stated), and Looniee's 3 accounts, 10 holdings and 500 transactions. Greenline is free with unlimited holdings while it's in beta. Kubera has no free plan. If you only need contribution room, Looniee's calculators are free without an account.
Is there a Wealthica alternative that doesn't need my bank login?
Yes, two of them. Looniee and Greenline never connect to a bank or broker; you import the file your broker lets you download (Greenline also reads PDF statements). WealthWise, Sharesight and Snowball also take file imports, with sync as an option (on paid plans for Snowball and WealthWise).
Which Wealthica alternative tracks TFSA and RRSP room?
Two of them document room tracking. Greenline tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting figure you confirm. Looniee works TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP room out from CRA rules and your logged contributions and withdrawals, per person. Sharesight and WealthWise track registered accounts as accounts, which isn't the same thing, and Wealthica itself has a Registered Contribution Tracker (announced 2022). Whichever you use, CRA My Account is the official figure.
Should I just stay with Wealthica?
If its sync works for your institutions, you use the app or the French interface, and the price is fine, probably yes. Switching costs an afternoon of exporting and importing files, and none of these alternatives does everything Wealthica does.

We make Looniee, one of the products above. Every product's prices and features were checked on its own website (earliest check on this page: October 20, 2026). Wealthica and the others change their plans, so confirm before you switch.
