The 5 best WealthWise alternatives for Canadian DIY investors (2026)

WealthWise is a young Canadian tracker with a lot going for it: English and French, data hosted in Canada, and optional broker sync. People look elsewhere for different reasons, from beta pricing that's hard to pin down to wanting room tracking or a more mature product. Which alternative fits depends on which of its features you'd miss.

Contents

Be clear about what you'd lose first. WealthWise is bilingual, hosts its data in Canada (none of the alternatives below documents that, and Looniee's data may be stored outside Canada, including in the US), offers an optional read-only broker connection, and includes FIRE projections with Monte Carlo scenarios. If those are the features you use, it may be worth staying while it leaves beta.

We make Looniee, one of the products below. We've ranked it first for readers who picked WealthWise for its registered-account focus, and each entry says what it does better than us.

01LoonieeOurs

Best for contribution room per person, with no bank login

Price
Free for 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions, no card. Plus is CA$9/mo, or CA$72/yr (CA$6/mo), with a 3-day Plus trial, card required.
How data gets in
Broker CSV/Excel import, AI screenshot import, or typing. Never a bank login
TFSA and RRSP
Room engines for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP, per person

This is ours. WealthWise tracks RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, RRIF and RESP accounts separately. Looniee goes a step further and works out how much room each person has left, from CRA rules and the contributions and withdrawals you log: TFSA withdrawals come back on January 1, the RRSP's $2,000 buffer, the FHSA's $8,000 carry-forward cap and RESP grant catch-up.

You import a broker CSV or Excel file, a screenshot or a typed list; nothing ever connects. It's free for 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions. Plus adds households of up to 6 people, retirement projections with Monte Carlo, analytics and the capital gains tools.

Good

  • Room engines for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP
  • Households of up to 6 people on Plus
  • No bank or broker login

Not so good

  • No sync, even as an option
  • Web only and English only; no French
  • Data may be stored outside Canada, including in the US

02Greenline

Best for a free no-login tracker with room tracking and an iPhone app

Price
“$0 during Beta”, no card, unlimited holdings. Paid plans will come “at launch, with monthly and annual options”, and early members are promised better rates.
How data gets in
PDF, spreadsheet or screenshot upload (verified parsers for named brokers, an AI parser for the rest), or typing. No bank connection
TFSA and RRSP
Tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting room you confirm, then your contributions

Greenline is Canadian and never connects to a bank. It tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting figure you confirm, does ACB, shows a dividend timeline, reads PDF statements and screenshots, and has an iOS app. While it's in beta it's free with unlimited holdings, against WealthWise's 15-asset free plan.

Like WealthWise, it's early: paid pricing hasn't been announced, partner sharing isn't available yet, and full CSV export is "on the way".

Good

  • Free during beta, unlimited holdings
  • Room tracking, including RDSP
  • iOS app; reads PDF statements

Not so good

  • Also a beta, with pricing to come
  • No French documented
  • No partner sharing or full export yet

03Wealthica

Best for French and automatic sync

Price
Connect $6.25/mo or $50/yr (3 core Canadian connections); Unlimited Connect $9.99/mo or $75/yr; Premium $19.99/mo or $150/yr; Prestige $29.99/mo or $250/yr. The pricing page doesn't state a currency. 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. No free plan is listed on the pricing page.
How data gets in
Read-only connections through aggregators: 200+ core Canadian institutions, 20,000+ worldwide
TFSA and RRSP
A “Registered Contribution Tracker” for RRSP and TFSA contributions (announced 2022). Whether it works out CRA room for you, and whether it covers FHSA and RESP, isn’t documented

If you chose WealthWise because it's in French, Wealthica is the other tracker here that is. It's Montreal-based, connects to more than 200 core Canadian institutions (bank accounts included), and has iOS and Android apps, family groups and a capital gains report on every plan.

Sync is the default rather than an option, which is the point. It no longer lists a free plan, and its pricing page doesn't state a currency.

Good

  • English and French
  • Sync across 200+ Canadian institutions on every plan
  • Capital gains report and family groups

Not so good

  • No free plan listed
  • Connections can break, like any aggregator's
  • Whether its contribution tracker calculates CRA room isn't documented

04Sharesight

Best for a mature synced tracker with tax reports

Price
Free (1 portfolio, 10 holdings, sold ones included). Starter CA$12/mo or CA$9/mo billed yearly (1 portfolio, 30 holdings); Standard CA$31/mo or CA$23.25/mo yearly (4 portfolios); Premium CA$39/mo or CA$29.25/mo yearly (10 portfolios). “Prices in CAD.”
How data gets in
Broker connection, trade-confirmation email forwarding or file upload, depending on the broker (14 Canadian brokers listed)
TFSA and RRSP
Not documented. Each portfolio has a tax setting (non-registered, RRSP, RRIF or TFSA)

If beta status is the worry, Sharesight is the established option. It lists 14 Canadian brokers through a connection, emails or a file, brings in dividends and corporate actions automatically, prices in Canadian dollars and has a Canadian capital gains report using the ACB method.

It treats TFSA and RRSP as tax settings on a portfolio rather than tracking room, and a household with several registered accounts needs one of its bigger plans.

Good

  • Mature product with broker connections
  • Canadian capital gains (ACB) report
  • Prices in CAD

Not so good

  • Room tracking isn't documented
  • Free plan counts sold holdings toward its 10
  • No French documented

05ProjectionLab

Best for FIRE and retirement planning

Price
Basic is $0 a year (forecasting and Monte Carlo). Premium is $129 a year (currency not stated) and adds international planning and tax estimation, which is where Canadian tax lives.
How data gets in
You enter your plan: balances, income, spending and milestones
TFSA and RRSP
TFSA and RRSP are default Canadian account types; contribution-room tracking isn’t documented

If WealthWise's FIRE projections were the draw, ProjectionLab is a dedicated planner. It has Canadian account types like TFSAs and RRSPs, provincial tax presets for Ontario, Alberta, BC and Quebec, and its 2025–2026 updates added CPP, OAS, GIS, pension income splitting and a configurable RRSP-to-RRIF age. Canadian tax estimation is on Premium.

It's a planner, not a holdings tracker: you enter balances and assumptions rather than importing your portfolio.

Good

  • Detailed long-range planning with CPP, OAS and GIS
  • Free Basic plan with Monte Carlo
  • Canadian account types and provincial presets

Not so good

  • Not a portfolio tracker
  • Canadian tax estimation needs Premium
  • FHSA and RESP support isn't documented

Why people look for an alternative

We found no public complaints about WealthWise; it's new. The reasons to look around come from its own pages (checked October 20, 2026):

  • Beta pricing. Prices are labelled "beta prices in Canadian dollars, subject to offer availability", so what you'll pay after the beta isn't stated.
  • Sync isn't spelled out. The broker connection is optional and "connections depend on the institutions available"; the pricing page doesn't say which plans include it.
  • A small free plan. One portfolio, with an account limit on assets whose number the pricing page doesn't give.
  • Room isn't documented. Registered accounts are tracked separately, but its pages don't describe contribution-room tracking.

Moving your history over

Start from your broker rather than from WealthWise: export each broker's full transaction history and import it into the new tracker. For Looniee: how to export from Wealthsimple and how to export from Questrade. For room, take your figures from CRA My Account and check them with the free TFSA and FHSA calculators.

Questions

Which WealthWise alternative is in French?
Of the five here, Wealthica is the one with a French interface. Looniee, Greenline, Sharesight and ProjectionLab don't document French.
Is there an alternative that keeps my data in Canada?
None of the alternatives here documents Canadian data hosting, and Looniee's privacy policy says its providers may store data outside Canada, including in the US. If Canadian hosting is a requirement, that's a reason to stay with WealthWise.
Which alternative tracks TFSA and RRSP room?
Looniee works out TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP room from CRA rules, per person. Greenline tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting figure you confirm. Wealthica has a Registered Contribution Tracker (announced 2022). CRA My Account is the official figure either way.

We make Looniee, one of the products above. Every product's prices and features were checked on its own website (earliest check on this page: October 20, 2026). WealthWise and the others change their plans, so confirm before you switch.
