The best net worth tracker in Canada (2026)

We make Looniee, so weigh what we say about it accordingly. The short version: the right tracker depends on whether you want your accounts to update by themselves, whether you're willing to give an app access to them, and whether you also want a budget.

Decide how your numbers get in first

Adding up what you own and owe is the easy part. The Canadian complications are accounts spread across banks and brokers that don't talk to each other, US-dollar holdings that need converting, and registered accounts where the room left matters as much as the balance.

A tracker gets your numbers one of two ways. Automatic connections sign in to your institutions through an aggregator and pull balances for you: convenient, but it means granting read-only access, and connections can drop. Imports and typing keep your logins to yourself, but new trades don't arrive on their own. Pick the trade-off you prefer before comparing features.

If you only want today's figure, you don't need an app: our free net worth calculator adds it up and compares it with Statistics Canada's median for your age, with no account.

Check the currency before the price

Two of the best-known trackers bill in US dollars: Monarch and Kubera. Their price in Canadian dollars moves with the exchange rate, and your card may add a foreign transaction fee. Wealthica's pricing page doesn't state a currency at all. Looniee and WealthWise charge in Canadian dollars, and Wealthsimple's tracking is free.

01Wealthica

Best for Canadian accounts that update by themselves

Price
Connect $6.25/mo or $50/yr (3 core Canadian connections); Unlimited Connect $9.99/mo or $75/yr; Premium $19.99/mo or $150/yr; Prestige $29.99/mo or $250/yr. The pricing page doesn't state a currency. 14-day free trial and a 60-day money-back guarantee. No free plan is listed on the pricing page.
How data gets in
Read-only connections through aggregators: 200+ core Canadian institutions, 20,000+ worldwide
Apps
Web, iOS and Android; English and French

Wealthica is the long-standing Canadian aggregator. It connects read-only to more than 200 core Canadian institutions, and 20,000+ worldwide, and pulls balances and holdings into one dashboard, on the web and in iOS and Android apps, in English and French.

It stopped being free in 2023: plans now start at $6.25 a month or $50 a year for three core Canadian connections, and the pricing page doesn't say which currency. It announced a Registered Contribution Tracker for RRSP and TFSA contributions in 2022; whether it works out your CRA room isn't documented.

Good

  • Automatic sync with 200+ Canadian institutions
  • English and French, web and mobile apps
  • 14-day free trial

Not so good

  • No free plan listed
  • Needs read-only access to your accounts
  • Currency not stated on the pricing page

02LoonieeOurs

Best for tracking without a bank login, with TFSA, RRSP and FHSA room

Price
Free for 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions, no card. Plus is CA$9/mo, or CA$72/yr (CA$6/mo), with a 3-day Plus trial, card required.
How data gets in
Broker CSV/Excel import, AI screenshot import, or typing. Never a bank login
Room
Room engines for TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP, per person

This is ours. Looniee never connects to a bank or broker: you import your broker's CSV or Excel export, upload screenshots, or type your holdings, and it prices them and adds any home, car or other asset you enter by hand. Next to the net worth, it works out TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP room from CRA rules.

The trade-off is the one above: new trades don't arrive by themselves, so you import or type them. It doesn't track debts as separate items, so a home goes in at its equity. The free plan covers 3 accounts, 10 holdings, 500 transactions; Plus adds a household of several people and the tax and planning tools.

Good

  • No bank or brokerage login, ever
  • TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RESP room per person
  • Free plan, no card

Not so good

  • No sync: import or type new trades
  • Debts aren't tracked as separate items
  • Web only, English only

03WealthWise

Best for a Canadian tracker in French, with debts in the net worth

Price
Free (1 portfolio; “account limit applies” to assets). Essential CA$4.99/mo or CA$49/yr (3 portfolios, 50 assets each); Premium CA$9.99/mo or CA$99/yr (unlimited, FIRE projections, AI analysis). “Beta prices in Canadian dollars, subject to offer availability.” Eligible accounts can activate 14 days of Premium after confirming their email, no card.
How data gets in
CSV/Excel import or manual entry; an optional read-only broker connection through SnapTrade (“connections depend on the institutions available”)
Apps
Web; English and French

WealthWise is a young Canadian tracker, labelled beta, in English and French. Its net worth view subtracts debts such as a mortgage, loans and credit from your accounts and other assets, and its privacy policy says its database is hosted in Canada. It tracks TFSAs, RRSPs, FHSAs and RESPs as separate accounts and adds FIRE projections on Premium.

You import CSV or Excel files or type entries, with an optional read-only broker connection through SnapTrade where your institution is available. Prices are beta prices in Canadian dollars: CA$4.99 a month for Essential, CA$9.99 for Premium. Contribution room tracking isn't documented.

Good

  • Debts included in the net worth
  • English and French; database hosted in Canada
  • Free plan, no card

Not so good

  • Labelled beta; post-beta prices not stated
  • Free-plan asset limit not stated
  • Room tracking not documented

04Wealthsimple’s own app

Best for people whose money is mostly at Wealthsimple

Price
Free; it comes with your Wealthsimple account.
How data gets in
Automatic for Wealthsimple accounts; other institutions can be linked or added by hand in the Net worth tab

If most of your money is at Wealthsimple, its Net worth tab is free and already there. Wealthsimple accounts update by themselves, other institutions can be linked or added by hand, and partners can share balances with each other.

It doesn't track contribution room: for TFSA and FHSA it shows only this year's contributions made at Wealthsimple, and its help centre points you to CRA My Account.

Good

  • Free with a Wealthsimple account
  • Wealthsimple accounts update by themselves
  • A partner view for couples

Not so good

  • No contribution room tracking
  • Less useful when most of your money is elsewhere

05Monarch Money

Best for a budget and net worth in one app

Price
Core is US$14.99 a month or US$99.99 a year; Plus is US$199.99 a year. “All prices are billed in USD.” 7-day free trial, payment method required. No free plan.
How data gets in
Bank and investment connections; Monarch suggests using the trial to confirm your institutions connect reliably

Monarch is a US budgeting app that accepts Canadian customers. It connects to bank and investment accounts and puts spending, budgets and net worth in one place, on the web, iOS and Android.

It bills in US dollars, after a 7-day trial that needs a payment method, and has no free plan. Monarch itself suggests using the trial to check that your institutions connect reliably. Contribution room isn't documented.

Good

  • Budgeting and net worth together
  • Web, iOS and Android
  • Built for two people sharing a budget

Not so good

  • Billed in USD; no free plan
  • Test your Canadian connections in the trial
  • No documented TFSA or RRSP room

06Kubera

Best for complex households with many currencies and asset types

Price
Essentials US$250/yr; Black US$2,500/yr (USD per the homepage's structured data; no monthly price shown); Gold, “Black, plus a person”, $10,000/yr. 14-day trial, with any fee shown at sign-up; the plan doesn't start automatically afterwards. No free plan.
How data gets in
Many aggregators (Plaid, Yodlee, MX, SnapTrade and others), Web Sync, and manual entry

Kubera is built for complicated balance sheets: many currencies, private assets, and sharing with family, assistants and advisors. It connects through several aggregators (Plaid, Yodlee, MX, SnapTrade and others) and takes manual entries for everything else.

It starts at US$250 a year with no free plan, and Canadian contribution room isn't documented.

Good

  • Many currencies and asset types
  • Several aggregators, plus manual entry
  • Sharing with family and advisors

Not so good

  • US$250 a year; no free plan
  • No documented TFSA or RRSP room

07Greenline

Best for a free no-bank-login tracker while it's in beta

Price
“$0 during Beta”, no card, unlimited holdings. Paid plans will come “at launch, with monthly and annual options”, and early members are promised better rates.
How data gets in
PDF, spreadsheet or screenshot upload (verified parsers for named brokers, an AI parser for the rest), or typing. No bank connection

Greenline is a newer Canadian tracker that also skips bank connections: you upload PDFs, spreadsheets or screenshots, or type your holdings. It's free during its beta, and paid plans are promised at launch.

It tracks TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room from a starting figure you confirm, then your contributions. It runs on the web and iOS; Android is listed as coming soon.

Good

  • Free during beta, no card
  • No bank connection
  • TFSA, RRSP, FHSA and RDSP room

Not so good

  • Paid plans not announced yet
  • No Android app yet

08A spreadsheet

Best for full control at no cost

Price
Free (Google Sheets) or whatever you already pay for Excel.
How data gets in
You type it, or paste your broker’s export

A spreadsheet is still how many Canadians track net worth: a row per account, a column per month. It costs nothing, holds anything you can type, and nobody else sees it.

Everything is manual, prices and exchange rates included, and room is only as right as the formulas you write. The CRA itself tells you to use your own records to work out your TFSA room.

Good

  • Free and private
  • Holds anything you can type

Not so good

  • Every update is manual
  • The formulas are yours to get right

Our pick

If you want your accounts to update by themselves and are comfortable granting read-only access, start with Wealthica's trial and check that your institutions connect. If you'd rather not hand over any access, or contribution room is the number you watch, try Looniee's free plan.

If a budget matters as much as net worth, Monarch is the one built for both, as long as US-dollar billing works for you. And if your money is all at Wealthsimple, its own Net worth tab may be all you need.

What we'd do today

  1. Work out today's figure first with the free net worth calculator: it shows what a tracker would have to hold.
  2. List your institutions. If you want sync, check each one connects during a free trial before paying for a year.
  3. Decide whether anyone else needs to see it, a partner or an adviser, and pick a tracker whose sharing fits.
  4. Pick a day each month or quarter to update it, and compare the trend rather than any single month.

Questions

What is the best free net worth tracker in Canada?
It depends where your money is. Wealthsimple's own app is free if you invest there. Looniee has a free plan with no card that tracks registered-account room, WealthWise has a free plan for one portfolio, and Greenline is free while in beta. A spreadsheet is free and fully private. Wealthica, Monarch and Kubera have no free plan.
What is the difference between a net worth tracker and a budgeting app?
A budgeting app follows money in and out: spending categories, bills and a monthly budget. A net worth tracker follows what you own and owe, and how the total changes over time. Monarch does both. Looniee tracks net worth and investments, not spending.
Is it safe to connect my bank to a net worth tracker?
Trackers that sync use read-only connections through aggregators: they read balances and transactions and aren't built to move money. The risk is the access itself, so read your bank's terms on sharing access with third-party apps. If you'd rather not share it, choose a tracker that works from imports and typing.
How often should I update my net worth?
Monthly or quarterly is enough for most people. Net worth moves with markets every day, so the trend over a year says more than any single month.

We checked prices and features for every product here on its own website (earliest check: October 20, 2026). This changes often, so double-check before you pay for anything.

Your net worth, next to Canadians your age

The free calculator adds up your accounts, home and debts and compares the total with Statistics Canada's median for your age.
